Of books and blogs
This site encourage the link-buffeted web skimmer to increase systematic study and reduce repetitive reading of large numbers of short presentations. Naturally, much learning can also come from reading certain websites and blogs: tips leading to new ideas and resources, easy ways to learn of and obtain books and articles, and timely applications of theory to current events and insights by accomplished scholars. It is a question of balance. I suspect the balance for most people today is tipped too far away from books. That said, I also recommend the following online resources.

Ludwig von Mises Institute

The Mises Institute’s publishing wing is responsible for the publication, or republication from obscurity, of a fairly large number of the books recommend on this site. Mises.org is actively updated and has active blogs and a massive and growing collection free online resources, including books and articles free in PDF and an outstanding online bookstore. The Institute organizes conferences and on-site educational opportunities for college students, graduate students, and faculty. I especially recommend subscribing to the Mises Economics Blog, with its high quality and timely analysis and scholarship.

Independent Institute

Active blog (The Beacon), books, conferences, and policy reports. Slightly more “policy” focused than the Mises Institute, but still without the level of compromise and dilution of consistency seen in some beltway think tanks.

The Lew Rockwell Show

A podcast, featuring mainly 15–20 minute interviews with authors and applications of theory to current events.

Against Monopoly: Defending the Right to Innovate

Bloggers, presentations, etc. on IP issues.
